Tyke 1 Stars Fall Short Against Coyotes
The Wasaga Beach Tyke 1 Stars drove into Elmvale to take on the Wile E. Coyotes.  Unfortunately for the Stars, even the Road Runner couldn't stop them on this day.

With a full line up for the first time this year, the Tyke 1 Stars had a hard time gelling, with everyone taking a turn sitting on the pine.  Zachary V. and Jake L. did a great job in the face off circle, winning almost every draw they took.  Kate S. and Nicky B. played a hard fore checking along the boards, making it tough for the Coyotes to make any plays.  The "Twisted Sisters", Chyna S. and Bella G., were a force on the back end, dumping the puck out of the Stars zone.  Power forwards  Colwyn R. and Adrian D. made the Coyotes howl in pain with the hard checking in the corners, making plays to get the puck to the front of the net.  Some great back checking from Mason B. and Carsten K. kept the Elmvale squad on their toes.  The "Caretaker of the Corded Closet", Aedan T. came up with some huge saves, not allowing anything past him in the second frame.  After watching some Don Cherry Rockem Sockem to get himself pumped to play the high flying Coyotes, the story of the game came from Jacob D., who earned himself the "Playmaker of the Game" jersey with his hard work on keeping the puck in the Elmvale end and his hard defensive play, covering the man in front of the Wasaga net and getting some pointers from Coach Mike on the long road trip.  The kids had a great game and the coaches couldn't be prouder of the effort the players put in game in and game out.

After a long road trip to start the season, the Wasaga Beach Stars Tyke 1 team will host the Coldwater Wildcats in their Home opener at the Wasaga Stars Arena this Saturday January 24th.
