Hard work pays off.
The team showed up today. What an exciting game. Dru made several great saves that enable us to come away with a 3-0 win.
1st period:
Dru made an exceptional save on a breakaway seconds into the game to set the tone. Both teams played a close checking game not allowing many shots on goal. Luke open the scoring at 3:08 on a rebound on a shot from Jack.
Oro scored a goal right at the buzzer that was disallowed.
SOG: Stars 5-4
2nd period.
We came out with guns blazing, Tyler scored his first ever goal on a great pass from Jack at 9:14 to take a 2-0.
Both teams got back to the close checking game not giving up to many scoring opportunities. When Oro were able to get to the net Dru stood tall and made a few brilliant saves that almost caused Coach Perry to have a heart attack.
SOG: Stars 6-4
3rd period
Not much of a change, close checking with both goaltenders standing ground not wanting to give up the next goal. Oro pulled their goaltender with 2 minutes remaining in the game. Putting pressure on us in our end, Alex was able to get the puck over our blue line and find the empty net to give us the 3-0 win.
The team continues to work hard and were rewarded with the win today. Oro must be commended on there play today as well.
The team does not see the ice again until Nov 7th when we play Penetang Flames at home at 2:20
