Wasaga Stars#1 VS Honeywood Hurricanes
The Wasaga Stars were on the road to face a strong Honeywood team.
The Hurricanes came out strong in the first period with 2 quick goals as the Stars looked a little rusty having not played a game in 2 weeks.
The Stars shook off the rust and battled back scoring 2 goals from Ben and Maddox with Andrew picking up an assist in the 2nd period.
It was a 4-2 game heading into the 3rd period with lots of action on both ends of the ice.
The defense for the Stars had another strong game from Kaleb, Nate, Heather and Chyna as well as the forwards who back checked all game to hold off the explosive hurricane players.
Dru played fantastic throughout the game for the Stars keeping his team in reach of the Hurricanes but Honeywood was too much to handle as they added 4 late goals in the 3rd period making the final score 8-2.
Player of the game went to Chyna who played hard and kept a positive "never quit attitude" on the bench. She had some magic in her new stick as she batted pucks away from in front of the Stars net and intercepted the opposition passes all game.
This game was the toughest test for the Stars so far this year and the coaching staff were very pleased to see the kids battle and play hard right to the last second of the game even though they were down by 6 goals.
