Fundraising Raffle Cancelled
Submitted By Gabriel Dore on Monday, August 28, 2017
The Fundraising Raffle previously announced has been cancelled.

The Fundraising cheques that were collected during registration will not be cashed.

Those who paid cash for the fundraising fee should contact the treasurer to arrange for a refund.

At the October 16th, 2017 Regular meeting of the Executive Committee, the association's approved accounting firm, Ron Anderson CPA, provided income statements for the last two fiscal years that were not available at the April 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM). These income statements showed significantly higher profits for the 2016-2017 fiscal year than what had been presented to the membership at the last AGM.

This new financial information, coupled with the difficulties that the Executive Committee has had in securing a lottery license for the Fundraising raffle that had been previously announced, led the committee to vote to cancel the raffle altogether and refund the Fundraising fees that had been collected from the membership during registration. All Fundraising cheques will be destroyed and those who paid the fee in cash will be issued refunds.
