Overview 
The Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey Association is a CC center and a member of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.   The 2021/2022 return to play programming for WBMH has been developed to meet requirements of the Ontario Hockey Federation.   The plan was developed with requirements and recommendations from the Town of Wasaga Beach and in conjunction with the operation requirements from the OMHA.   
The objective of this plan is to meet the requirements set out by the Town of Wasaga Beach Emergency Management Team and in accordance with OMHA guidelines, in an effort to provide a safe and effective return to hockey for the protection of all our participants and spectators.  
 The health and safety of our Stars players, coaching staff, volunteers, families and fans are the utmost importance to us, and were the top priority during the development of this plan. Our goal is for a safe and fun hockey season for all! 
Currently, the season is scheduled to start November 1, 2021. Occupancy will be restricted to 50 participants on the ice surface at one time, with cap of 17 occupants per dressing room per team.    Which includes bench staff, and players.  
 
Covid 19 Tracking- Members  
WBMHA will keep a record of covid tracking for all OMHA registered participants, coaching staff, team managers and team trainers.  This information will include name, phone number, date/time of the session, all records and information must be maintained by the Team Manager or Parent Rep.  Upon request, this information may be provided to the Municipality and/or the Simcoe County Health Unit, in the event there is a need to Contact Trace a COVID 19 positive case.  The prescribed Health Unit Reporting Form will be provided 
 
Covid 19 Tracking -Spectators  
All parents/guardians, will be required to follow the provincial guidelines with covid protocol under Appendix A: requirements for patrons in indoor sport and recreational fitness facilities under the Ontario Government Re-Opening Act

Covid 19 Screening 
 All participants are to be pre-screened for Covid 19 symptoms or exposure per the prescribed OHF Screening Form prior to participation at each team event.  A record of the pre-screening is to be maintained by the Manager.  The screening will take place prior to the session at the arena upon arrival of each player. Participants who are not feeling well, exhibiting symptoms of COVID 19 or have been exposed to COVID 19 must not participate in any team event.  In such instances, the Participant/Parent must communicate this information to the Team Officials.  The Participant will not be allowed to return until such time as Medical Clearance is obtained. 
 
Vaccination Requirements  
All eligible player, bench staff, executive and volunteers are required under the OMHA return to play guidelines to provide proof of full vaccination including the 2-week waiting period.  The OMHA guidelines can be reviewed at https://www.omha.net/news_article/show/1179916 
 
Wasaga Stars Arena- Members  
 Players are to arrive partially dressed 15 min prior to the start of their session and leave partially dressed 15 minutes after the conclusion of their practice or game  Face Coverings/Masks are to be worn by players at all times until the players helmet has been put on  Practice physical distancing at all times when possible  All bench staff are required to always wear a face covering/mask in the facility, including gameplay. Masks for coaches are not required during on ice activities   Players are to bring their own water bottles filled.  No bottle fill stations will be available at the arena

Wasaga Stars Arena- Spectators  
 All eligible spectators are required to provide the Town of Wasaga Beach Arena Staff with proof of full vaccination including the 2-week waiting period.  as per Appendix A: requirements for patrons in indoor sport and recreational fitness facilities under the Ontario Government ReOpening Act   Face covering/mask are to be worn by everyone BEFORE entering the Arena and must remain on while indoors.  Physical Distancing of 2 meters (6 feet) is strongly encouraged for ALL users throughout the Arena  Hand sanitizer is available for use at the area and is strongly encouraged to be used upon entry and when exiting, the Arena. 
 
WBMHA Membership 
WBMHA understands that the 2021/2022 return to hockey is fluid and can change at any time based on orders from our Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit, The Town of Wasaga Beach and our governing body the OMHA.  The WBMHA Executive will be responsible for implementing the return to play and updating its membership with OMHA directives. Please monitor our website for the most recent and up to date information regarding changes in protocol during the upcoming season.
