Town Protocol (Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey)

PrintTown Protocol

September 17, 2021

Dear Stakeholders,
You are receiving this letter as a point of contact for one of our many groups that regularly books either ice at the Wasaga Stars arena or multi-purpose space at the RecPlex. Since March of 2020 staff have worked on countless safety plans with a variety of stakeholders to ensure Town facilities, staff and participants remain as safe as possible. We appreciate your help in this regard. Thank you.
As most know, on September 22nd the province of Ontario will begin to require proof of identification and proof of vaccination at the point of entry for many businesses and organizations under the Reopening Ontario Act. For this reason, the Town has developed guidelines and procedures for groups with ice and room bookings this fall provided activities are in keeping with all relevant facility guidelines and applicable public health regulations. Some exemptions for unvaccinated individuals over twelve years old will apply. Specifics about exemptions for individuals with a medical note or those participating in sport under eighteen years of age can be found in this linked Ministrv of Health document. Ultimately, as of next Wednesday, September 22,2021, individuals without sufficient proof of vaccination will not be permitted enter indoor Town facilities for meetings, events, sports or recreational activities.
The Town will have updated COV|Dl9 related guidelines to be signed off on in addition to all 2021 ice and room rental contracts and waivers on file. Groups will still be required to ensure spectators, health screening and attendance tracking are all managed in keeping with sport governing bodies rules and regulations as well as public health guidelines.
Cancellations due to COV|Dlg implications will be refunded should further information become available that limits ice or room use presumed reasonable at the time of booking.

Thanks and be safe,

Chris Roos - Director Recreation, Events & Facilities
