Bella G. Stands on her Head Against The Wildcats
The Tyke 1 Wasaga Stars hosted the Wildcats on a bone chilling afternoon at the Wasaga Stars Arena.  The house was packed on this Family Day weekend, with decibel levels reaching a record setting high.

Before the kids even stepped out on the ice, Coach Matt gave a pep talk about his scouting out east letting everyone know that none of their jobs are safe, and that the trade deadline is approaching quickly.  Coach Jenn piped in and reassured the kids to just try your hardest and have fun.

The Tyke 1 Stars ran onto the ice, intimidating the Wildcats with their speed as they started the warm up.  Once the puck was dropped, the Stars were all over the Wildcats.  Stepping to the plate was Nicky B. and Aedan T., dropping back to defense for the game, keeping the Wildcats off the board in the first frame.  The trio of Jake L., Carsten K. and Adrian D. got the Stars on the board first with a great fore checking battle along the side boards from Adrian, popping the puck loose to an open Carsten, followed by a nice saucer pass right on the tape of Jake, while Jake put the disk right over the Wildcat goalies glove with a great one timer.

The "Bash Brothers" were back at it again, with the Stars down by a couple, Mason "MAD DOG" B. and Jacob D. got their team back in the game with some big hits (or falls) along the boards and some solid defensive back checking.  With the Stars getting pumped up again with the "Bash Brothers" shenanigans, Kate S. and Cooper H. were grinding the Wildcats in the offensive corners, freeing the puck for Zach "Attack" V. to pop in 2 quick goals for the Stars.

The "Practitioner of the Piped Pavilion", Bella G., earned the well deserved "Playmaker of the Game" jersey.  She stood on her head all afternoon, making save after save, knocking the puck out of the air like she was popping bubbles.  All the kids had a great game and the coaching staff couldn't be prouder of the group we have.  A special thanks to all the parents for making this year run smooth, and helping wherever it is needed.

The Wasaga Stars Tyke 1 team hosts the Elmvale Coyotes on Saturday February 21st and travel to Penetang on Sunday February 22nd to extinguish the Flames.

GO STARS GO!!!!!
