Wasaga Stars Tyke 1 Takes on Coyotes
The Wasaga Beach Tyke 1 Stars skated into battle the Coyotes of Elmvale at the Wasaga Stars Arena on Saturday afternoon.  After being held off the score sheet for the past two games, the Stars had something to prove to their hometown fans.

The first period saw the Stars fall behind early, but with the return of Zach "Attack" V. to the line up after a 3 game hiatus, he finally got the Stars on the board with a great feed from half of the "Twisted Sisters", Chyna S.  With some great defensive zone coverage from Nicky B., he got the puck out of the zone to a streaking Aedan T., who then head manned the puck up to Jake L., who snapped the disk over the left pad of the Elmvale goalie.  With the Stars on a tear, Coach Jenn wanted to keep the momentum in the favour of the Stars and put out the "Bash Brothers".  Jacob D. and Mason B. put on a hitting clinic, crushing everything that came their way.
The start of the third period saw the Stars get on the score board first with a beauty by Zach V., dangling around the Coyote defenders and ripping one past the glove of the goalie.  The "Tender of the Twine Tent", Kate S. was stellar between the pipes, stepping up for the forth time this season.  Not really wanting to strap the pads on again, she told her mom that she was doing it for the team because the team needs her.  Cooper H. was flying around the ice like a young Wayne Gretzky, showing how hard he has worked all year.  With the Coyotes back on the board, Colwyn R. was battling along the boards with a bigger Elmvale player, but out smarted him with a great play to get the puck to Zach.  Zach then got the puck to an open Carsten K. who fired a bullet past the Elmvale keeper.
The highlight of the afternoon came from the "Playmaker of the Game", Adrian D.  He played solid defence all game and was digging in the corners, clearing the garage from the Stars end.
The kids played a great game and are having lots of fun.  The coaching staff couldn't be more proud of this group of kids and it's an honour to be on the ice with them.
The Wasaga Beach Tyke 1 Stars play host to there cross ice rivals, the Wasaga Beach Tyke 3 Stars Sunday afternoon at the Wasaga Stars arena for a real barn burner.
