What a Season
What a season it was.....with just the end of year tournament left to play. It has been a fantastic year watching our kids play the great game of hockey.
Wow...... As I reflect on the season and everything that our kids have accomplished I couldn't be happier to be a part of it. The Tyke 2 kids came together and ended the season with a 7-5-2 winning record. Who would have thought that a bunch of kids playing there first organized hockey would have so much fun and improve like they did. I am pretty sure the parents enjoyed watching their kids on the ice having fun with their friends and playing a game they enjoy. Well done!!!!
All three Tyke teams played well and showed improvement throughout the hockey season. Many of our kids are friends outside of hockey and play together at school. A number of the parents knew each other before hockey started as well some new friendships have been made. Regardless of how some people viewed this season and the way it turned out it was a success on many levels.....however WBMH has shown it needs a great deal of improvement within the Tyke program. Some negative things that transpired throughout the season which were unnecessary and could have been avoided with education and proper communication between the committee and the Tyke teams (all three). The one thing that some parents and coaches fail to realize is that we are doing this for our kids, teaching them Team Work, Sportsmanship and to have Fun. It's not about the parents and there egos. That needs to be checked at the door and parents need to be good role models for ALL kids that play the game!
Tyke 2....All the coaches and bench staff would like to say "You Rock" it has been a pleasure to be a part of your hockey experience this year. You have all come a long
way.
