Wasaga Stars Tyke 1 were in Angus Sunday to end their double header weekend.
The Stars played a tough game vs the Essa Eagles  and made them work hard for the win.

Coming off their big win the day before, the Stars were ready to do battle.    The game started off fast and furious with scoring opportunities at both ends of the ice.   Connor Wyville stood on his head and kept the game scoreless after the 1st period.

Brayden Martynuik looked like Fulton  (Mighty Ducks trivia)  with his big wind up and slap shot to clear the puck from his end of the ice and help out his goalie.    Locklin Diver and Kate Stuart played fantastic in the neutral zone by breaking up the Eagles attack and carrying the puck out of their end.

Christian Markic was all over the ice fore checking and helping his defence.   His relentless pressure frustrated the Eagles and forced turnovers which resulted in a fantastic pass to his center Jake Lavers in the 3rd period for the only goal of the game for the Stars.   For his hard work and extra effort Christian was awarded the Grit Grinder player of the game by the coaching staff.

The team continues to impress the coaching staff and fans week after week.  Their hard work at practice and love of the game is second to none.

The Stars next match up is Sunday afternoon vs the Stars ??

Good luck to both teams.
