The Stars were on home ice on Sunday afternoon.
The Shelburne Wolves-2 came to town for their second meeting of the season with the Stars.

The Stars were looking for retribution against an experienced Shelburne squad.  The game was back and forth throughout 3 periods but the wolves managed leave town with the win.

Some great plays through the neutral zone by the Stars offence managed some great scoring opportunities with Hudson Bradford netting the only goal for the Stars with an assist from his center Jake Lavers.

The defensive pairings of Cole Rouse, Miller Black, Kingston Inman, Landon Tardif and Katie Stuart frustrated the Wolves attack as they dug in the corners and stood their ground on the blue line.  Connor Wyville was between the pipes and played another great game.

Katie Stuart made one of her rare appearances on defense and as one of the few veterans on the team she demonstrated her two way hockey skills.  She broke up plays and cleared the defensive zone with break outs from her end of the ice.  Katie maintained her defensive zone coverage and contributed on offense as well which resulted in breakaways and scoring opportunities.    Katie’s hard work paid off as the coaching staff awarded her with the Grit Grinder Helmet.

The Stars will be on home ice again on Saturday when they clash with Shelburne Wolves-1 for the first time.

Go Stars.
