A perfect final score!
REMATCH !
On Sunday afternoon, the old barn was again the place to be as our two Tyke teams faced off again in their second meeting of the season.

The highly anticipated rematch delivered the excitement everyone was hoping for. With end– to-end action and a close game from start to finish most fans left wondering why they paid for the whole seat when they only used the edge.

“We’ve got the power, We’ve got the might, Connor’s our goalie… and he’s dynamite!”

Starting from the net out, every Star had a strong defensive game. Miller Black and Landon Tardif were quick to throw water on any offensive fires that were started in our end. While Hudson Bradford, Cole Rouse and Kingston Inman were brilliant at adding wrinkles to many of the breakaway plans. Meckenzie Brannigan, Locklin Diver, and Gavin Sorensen continued to show great puck handling skills with breakout skating that gave the other team something to worry about. Kate Stuart had her long blonde hair flowing in the wind as she blew past the defence multiple times to create her own scoring opportunities. She eventually connected with Jake Lavers in the second period to tie the game at one. Our Stars took the lead early in the third with a beautiful bank pass by Brayden Martynuik to spring Jake Lavers who again cashed in for his second goal of the game. Yet, no bragging rights would be had as our practice partners scored late in the third to tie the game at two. It was a fitting end to what was a well played game by both teams.

Jake Lavers had another stand out game for the Stars scoring 2 goals and adding to his season total.  He’s been dominant at both ends of the ice all season and earned the Grit Grinder Player of the game.

Special thanks to Mathew Martynuik for todays write up and game results.

Go Stars.
