Stars Battle Midland
Tonight's game marked the first playoff game as the Stars begin the battle in the "A" loop against the Midland Centennials.

The entire team put forth an extraordinary effort and kept the pace fast making for really exciting hockey. Riley put on an absolute clinic, letting Midland know early that Wasaga was looking for victory and putting in all of Wasaga's 4 goals. In true team effort fashion, Owen, Jackson, Aaron, Griffin and Haydn assisted Riley who found shooting low and hard the way to beat the Midland tender.

Shayne played excellent again as the teams went back and forth with Wasaga holding the lead until the 3rd period.

A true test of our defensemen tonight, with Maddox, Matthew, Aaron and Owen battling hard at the blue line and showing great speed defending against Midland forwards who are known to be some of the quickest and more agile players with great positioning. Good work boys.

All fans interviewed agreed with the coaches that today's game, although not a victory on the scoreboard (6-4 in favour of Midland) was a victory in that the level of hockey and overall skill of the boys has improved greatly over the year and the team is positioned well for a great playoff run.
