STARS FINISH 2nd in OMHA finals!
What a series! What an OMHA playoff season for the Wasaga Stars Peewee team!
A huge congratulations to the players, coaching staff and fans.

The Stars battled hard in the series being down 2 games to a solid Tavistock Titans team. Games 3 and 4 showed the depth and determination of the boys as they tied up the series 2-2 with back to back wins.
Tonight's game was a nail biter all the way through, with the Stars coming back to tie the game 1-1 and dominating the second period. The third period was a very exciting 15 minutes with many chances for both teams. Tavistock was able to come out of the game with a 3-1 lead but the Stars put forth their best efforts and were very challenging opponents.
Great show for the fans!
Although the game was lost, 2nd place in the OMHAs is a huge accomplishment. Many things not related to the score have been won this season and in these OMHA finals.  Each and every player have progress and developed their skills as players and as teammates. Pride and respect and appreciation for their teammates how to work hard and succeed are building blocks for not only hockey, but for life.
For many players, with coach Paul, Charlie, Don and Brian's support and training (yes, Zezels after Zezels), this season has marked the furthest in the playoffs that they have ever made it. Playing over 50 games, meeting new friends and enjoying fun road trips and tournaments will stay within the players on this team for a lifetime.
The parents and fans have supported the team all year, many travelling in from out of town week after week. THANK YOU FANS! THANK YOU WASAGA BEACH ASSOCIATION AND EXECUTIVE.

The Wasaga Stars Peewee team has helped bring new people into the arena to come and watch exciting hockey. They have displayed not only great hockey skills but shown sportsmanship and hospitality in these playoff, and we are all very proud of them.

The Stars take on Penetang tomorrow for game 3 of Georgian Bay series.
