The Wasaga Stars wasted no
time getting to work in their second playoff matchup against the
Collingwood Blackhawks.
A mere 6 seconds ticked off the clock before Jack LeBlond(2A) fed a pass to linemate Devon Jessup(3G,2A), who buried the one-timer to score. The puck had scarcely touched the ice at the ensuing faceoff when the dynamic duo struck again, notching 2 goals in their first shift and less than a minute into the game!
By the end of the first, the Blackhawks had managed to claw their way back to a 2-2 tie, but the Stars dominated the play and the goals kept coming: Jessup slid a sweet cross-ice pass to Dalton Risk(1G), who unloaded a Howitzer to the top corner, and Joey “Greased Lightning” Monohan(2G) put the game out of reach with a pair of markers in the third period. Morgan Payne turned some heads with her superb play, and Devon Jessup earned Player of the Game honours with 3 goals, 5 points and an overall outstanding performance.
