PLAYOFF March 5 VS Creemore Valley Hawks
The Wasaga Stars wrapped up their season with a home game versus the well-matched Creemore Hawks.

The Stars picked up where they left off in their impressive performance a week earlier with good positional play, intensity and textbook passing. Tireless forechecking from Devon Jessup(2A) resulted in a timely turnover and Joey Monohan(1G) opened the scoring with quick release from the slot halfway through the first period. Wasaga kept up the pressure and struck again less than a minute later, this time at the hands of sniper Dalton Risk(3G) who ripped a sizzler to the top corner, assisted by Jacob Curtis(1A). After initially reeling from the Wasaga barrage, Creemore pushed back late in the first and managed to tie the score at 2 apiece early in the second period.

Undeterred, the Wasaga offence got back to work: Devon Jessup slid an exquisite cross-ice pass to a wide-open Dalton Risk, who made no mistake and rifled another high shot into the Creemore net. Player of the Game Risk completed the hat trick in the dying seconds of the frame when Mia MacNicol(1A) carried the puck up the ice and through defenders and fed the puck to the front of the net. Stars defense shut the doors for the rest of the game, hemming in shooters and repeatedly skating the puck out the defensive zone. Final score: Wasaga 4, Creemore 2.

Wasaga finished the year on a high note, celebrating a well-earned win against a strong opponent and playing their best hockey of the season. Well done, Wasaga Stars!
