Stars Back in Midland
The Wasaga Stars were back in Midland to play their final road game of the regular season.

The Stars fell behind early in the first period as the Centennials came out strong and scored two quick goals. Finding themselves playing catch up the whole game the Stars didn't give up and slowly chipped away at the Centennials lead.

In an effort to drum up some offensive punch Coach Steve shook up the lines at the start of the game putting the top scorers on one line and the gritty grinders on another.   The grinders held strong at -3 for the night and made the Cens work for every point.   The Stars appeared to be rolling in the third period coming within 1 goal at 6-5 and with only minutes left the Cens managed 2 more goals to win the game 8-5.

This was only the third time in the regular season a team in the GBMHL has managed to score more than 3 goals against Midland and on this night the Stars put 5 behind the Cens goalie lead by Cruz who managed to score 4 goals with the help of his line mates.  Cruzs extra effort and velvet hands earned him the Wasaga Warrior of the Game !  Great job.

The Stars play their final league game on January 8th vs Collingwood.

Go Stars.
