A highly anticipated match up vs the Highland Storm on
Friday night started off the best of 5 series.
The first period was a scoreless nail biter as both teams tested each other at both ends of the ice. Midway through the second period the Stars put one past the Storm goalie and kept the flood gates open. They played their game and scored seven more unanswered goals to win 8-0.
With such a great offensive display you would think the highlight of the game was the offense, but it was the defensive play of the entire Stars line up that stole the show by keeping the Storm off the score board. Ryder’s relentless back checking and puck movement along the boards was a key factor in the Stars big win and for that he earned the Wasaga Warrior of the Game. Great job Ryder.
The Stars continue their series with game two in Haliburton on Saturday afternoon.
Go Stars!
