Game #4 vs Coldwater Wildcats #2
The Stars continued their home stand to begin the season with the fourth game of the season coming against the a very game Coldwater team that was coming off a two game home and home series that resulted in losses by the same score of 5 -3 to the the other Wasaga Stars Peewee team.

Considering the season to date and the fact that the Wasaga Stars Peewee #2 team barely scraped by over the Peewee #1 team to start the season it was expected that the Stars Peewee #1 team would be in for a tight game against the Wildcats #2 team.

The game did not disappoint and in the end the Stars come up short by a score of 4-3.  The 1st period was a back and forth affair and the Wildcats opened the scoring but the Stars responded when Logan T. took a pass from Zij M and tied the score 1-1.  During intermission the coaching staff stayed true to the message of continuing to pressure the puck and stay consistent through the to the whistle.

The second period, however, did not go the Stars way and the Wildcats netted three goals and the Stars could only counter with a Spencer R goal that resulted in a score of 4-2 for the Wildcats to end the 2nd period.

After a pep talk to the defence to clamp down in the third the Stars played their hearts out to close the gap.  The Stars Zij M come through with a quick goal to start the third and the strong goaltending of Revan R and the defence consisting of Chyna S, Emma P, Landon L, and Andrew G held the Wildcats at bay through the whole period but in the end the Stars came up one goal short.

The coaching staff decided to honour Matthew M with player of the game.  Even though he did not tally on the score sheet it was evident through the game that he was getting the message that the team needed to put more pressure on the puck and stay true to their position to ensure the team has the greatest chance for success.

Congrats Matthew.

GO STARS GO!
