The Stars embarked on their first road game of the season in an attempt to get the monkey off their backs and chalk up their first win.
After a disappointing loss the day before the Stars hoped that a little change of scenery would benefit their mojo and get their first win of the season. The Coyotes were also entering the game winless, so at the end of the day one of teams would take a step forward.
The Stars looked to build on their effort from the third period in their last game and it was clear they realized that if they played as a team the results would be positive. The game started just as the Stars had hoped with the team taking a solid 2 -0 lead after two periods on goals by Ben P and Zij M with assists on the first goal going to Spencer R and Jacob D. Besides the scoring edge the Stars were also frustrating the Coyotes and they took 3 penalties to the Stars 2 and the forward line of Damien D, Jayden V and Jackson R tallied multiple chances to keep the Coyotes on their heals.
With a 2-0 lead the message between periods was for the Stars to keep their foot on the gas. Although the Coyotes came out and scored their first goal of the game the Stars responded with three goals of their own with tallies being credited to Logan T, Spencer R and Andrew G and assists going to Jacob D and Zij. In the end the Stars got what they wanted and notched their first win of the season with a 5 - 2 victory.
With his 1 goal, 1 assist effort Logan T was honoured with the player of the game award.
