Game #6 vs Penetang Flames
The Stars returned home from their thrilling consolation final victory the day before to take on a Penetang Flames team that was just ahead of them in the regular season standings.

The 6th game of the regular season was a chance for the Stars to build on their accomplishments from the day before and post their first victory at home and also help them leap from their opponent in the standings.  The Stars took on an intimidating Flames team that was not just large in terms of number of players but also in physical body size but the approach was the bigger they are the harder they fall and the Stars showed they wouldn't back down.

The game was initially dominated by the defence and goalies of both teams with Revan V. standing tall in net for the Stars and Landon L showing his mettle as a defenceman.  The game remainded scoreless until the teams began trading goals in the second period but the Stars managed to come out head with 3 goals to the Flames 2.  Ben P managed two of the goals and Logan T the third with one assist going to Spencer R on Ben's second goal.

With the Stars leading 3-2 at the 2nd intermission they were on the precipice of their first home victory but they knew it wouldn't come easy.  The Stars took the first step toward victory on a goal officially credited to Jacob D and the Stars goalie made multiple stops to eventually allow Ben to add another goal to stake the Stars to a 5 - 2 lead that they used to eventually hold on for their first home win of the season with the final score 5 - 4.

Considering the consistent effort and fine defensive hockey the team awarded Landon L with player of the game honours.

Congrats Landon.

GO STARS GO!
