Ice Convenor

Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey is seeking applications for the position of Ice Convenor for the 2018-2019 season.

In accordance with the By-Laws and Rules of Operation, the ice convenor is responsible for:

  • attending all annual league scheduling meetings
  • attending Executive meetings (when required)
  • scheduling all regular season games, playoff games, and all practices for all teams in the association
  • posting all ice time for all teams (games and practices) on the association's website
  • acting as the single point of contact with the Town of Wasaga Beach with regards to the use of ice time at the Wasaga Stars Arena
  • negotiating and signing all playoff agreements (GBTLL, GBMHL, OMHA) for all teams in the association
  • ensuring that Team Officials and the Referee in Chief are aware of all games

All Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey games are posted and recorded using the OneDB online database system. While prior experience using this system is not required, it is an asset that is being sought by the association.

The Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey website is hosted by MBSportsWeb. While prior experience using this platform is not required, it is another key asset that is sought after by the association.

Applicants should demonstrate their knowledge and prior experience in minor sports, and preferably in minor hockey. This position requires planning and organization skills that the applicants should also demonstrate in their applications.

Applications may be submitted via email directly to the association's president who can also provide details of salary arrangements. Interviews (if required) will be arranged by the President on behalf of the Executive.
