Important dates, events, and updates for the start of the 2025-26 season
Hard to believe summer is almost over, but the bright side is that hockey season is just around the corner! We’re excited to welcome all our hockey families back to the rink and wanted to provide some important updates as questions about the start of the season begin to roll in.
You may have noticed the calendar already showing team development sessions starting Monday. These skates are for our MD and Rep teams. Thanks to spring tryouts, OMHA allows us to host sanctioned summer development for those groups.

Practices for MD and Rep teams begin September 2nd.

Local League (U8 and above) kicks off September 6th.

Local League coach interviews are happening this week — watch our socials for coach announcements!
This season, Local League will look a little different:

No Warmup Skates. Instead all our teams (U8 and above) will have the month of September to Practice before regular seasons start.

For divisions with only one team, coaches will contact families directly before the first practice.

For divisions with multiple teams, player evaluations will be held to create fair, balanced teams. Dates and times will be posted on our website calendar. For example, if the calendar says U11LL evaluations, all U11LL players attend.
We can’t stress enough the importance of checking the website and calendar regularly. All practices and games will be posted there, but schedules in hockey are fluid and can change at any time. We will do our best to keep things consistent — we value multi-sport athletes and busy families — but please expect some changes, especially when we are hosting tournaments.

Registration will remain open until teams are full, however some divisions have very limited spots left.
