VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK (VSC) ACCEPTANCE OF RECEIPTS - UPDATE, News (Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey)

As a follow-up to OHF Bulletin # 25-032 OHF Screening Process for 2025-26 Season please review the following information released August 25th, 2025 regarding the acceptance of VSC receipts by the OMHA for the 2025-26 season.

 

• While the OHF has indicated that they will accept VSC receipts from individuals who have submitted to their police service but have not yet received their screening results, the OMHA will require that to be eligible to participate and rostered, all Bench Staff at the Representative level and on At-Large or Volunteer Rosters must have their VSC completed and submitted to the OHF screening portal. Receipts will not be accepted.
  
  Receipts will be accepted for Bench Staff at the Recreational Level (HL/LL/MD/Select) to be eligible to participate and rostered. Any exception to the requirement for a completed VSC to be added to a Representative, At-Large or Volunteer roster must be able to demonstrate that an alternative solution is not available to enable the team to be eligible for participation. These will be dealt with on an individual basis by the Regional Director for your area in conjunction with the OMHA Office.
  
  OMHA Representative, At-Large and Volunteer rosters have been set with restrictions that will not allow an individual requiring VSC to be added to a team unless they have, depending on their individual circumstances, submitted their VSC results to the OHF screening portal, and/or have completed their online VSC declaration for the season. If you receive a warning that the Member is missing VSC or Declaration and you cannot place the Member on the roster, it is because they are either missing their Declaration or a valid VSC. Please review the Member’s History tab to verify what is missing.
  
  To summarize:
  
  
• New participants requiring VSC, and returning participants with an expired VSC:
• Representative, At-Large and Volunteer roster Bench Staff must have submitted their VSC results to the OHF screening portal to be eligible to participate and be rostered.
• Recreational (HL/LL/MD/Select) Bench Staff must have submitted their VSC results to the OHF screening portal to be eligible to participate and be rostered, or If they have requested a VSC from their police service and have not yet received the completed VSC, they may submit their receipt through the OHF screening portal and complete the online Declaration. They will be required to submit their completed VSC through the OHF screening portal no later than December 1st. Bench Staff who have not submitted their VSC by this date will be made ineligible to participate on their team’s roster. No exceptions or extensions will be granted. • All returning participants with a VSC on record that is not expired must complete the online declaration for the upcoming season to be eligible to participate and rostered.
