Game #2 against Stayner #2
The Wasaga Beach Atom #2 team got off to a slow start and were not able to catch up against Stayner #2 in a high scoring game.
After following behind 4-0 in the first period they came out strong in the second period but gave up another goal to fall behind 5-0 but responded quickly with a goal from #5 Matteo S. but the second period ended with a score of 9-1 in favour of the visiting Stayner team.
After a few adjustments and little coaching from the bench #10 Joe M. closed the gap in the third period with a hat trick and #6 Ben P. added another with his first career regular season goal and the Wasaga Beach team outscored the opposition 4-3 in the third period but the game ended in favour of the Stayner team with a final score of 12-5.
Other players who made their mark on the score sheet for Wasaga Beach included#7 Lucas W. with two assists and #17 Jacob C. with one assist and #8 Logan T. with 2 assists.
With his hat trick #10 Joe M. came away with player of the game honours and the whole team was looking forward to building on their strong third period when they take on the Essa Eagles #1 team next Saturday.
