Game # 3 vs Essa #1
Wasaga Stars Atom #2 notch their first win of the season in a high scoring affair.

In a rematch of the opening game of the season the Stars revenged that loss with a barrage of goals and and came out on top with a final score of 9-7.

Playing with back-up goalie Jack Babcock in net the Stars came out strong with the first goal of the game 30 seconds into the first period by defensemen Jacob Curtis and then played a strong team game the remainder of the period to hold that one goal advantage heading into the 2nd period where the goal light began to get a workout.

The Stars were the first to put another goal on the scoreboard in the 2nd period when defenseman Devon Jessop squeaked a puck just over the goal line and then the Eagles responded with one of their own to make it 2-1.  Stars winger Matteo Saucedo-Willems added a goal to make it 3-1.  At this point the Stars Jacob Curtis began to take over the game with 4 straight goals to give him 5 in the game and with just over 10 minutes remaining in the third period the Stars held a 7-3 lead and the game looked to be in hand.

Following the ejection of an Eagles coach the Essa team began to mount a comeback and rallied with 4 straight goals to tie the game up at 7-7 with just under 3 minutes to play.  Although a little shaken from the onslaught of goals the Stars came together and closed the game with goals by Joziah Moore and Matteo to close the game out with a final score of 9-7.

After a few positive words from Coach Don in the locker room the team awarded player of the game honours to goalie Jack Babcock with an honourable mention to Jacob Curtis for his tremendous offensive outburst.  Jack will have the chance to where the golden jersey at practice next week.
