Wasaga Stars Atom #2 vs Oro Thunder
In the 3rd game of the season the Stars returned home to host the Oro Thunder.  Playing short-handed, they were missing four players including their starting goaltender, the Stars came into the game knowing they would have to dig deep and cycle the lines quickly to ensure they would have enough gas in the tank to finish the game.

Before the game the Stars were a little on edge as they waited for their back-up goalie, Jack B, to get ready, after forgetting his hockey pants, the team hoped his Dad would get back in time before the game began.  While waiting for Jack's dad Coach Mike encouraged his team to pass the puck and pressure the other team when they had possession with the hope the Stars could play keep away and take the pressure off Jack.  At the last minute Jack was in his equipment and the Stars took the ice with a little jump in their step.

For the third game in a row Ben P. opened the scoring for the Stars and the game was on.  Throughout the game the Stars players took their coaches word to heart and racked up a bunch of scoring chances and goals by playing unselfish and passing the puck when their teammates were open.  After the only unassisted goal, by Evan H., of the game the Stars proceeded to rack up multiple assists on the remaining 7 goals of the game.

On the score sheet, the 9 goals were spread around to 7 players including first career goals by Matt M and Adam C and a first of the seasons by Zach P.  Also on the score sheet were Andrew D, and Zij M.  Both Matt and Adam received game pucks following the game.  On the defensive side of the puck the Stars stood strong in front of their goaltender.  The defensive lines of Jacob D., Andrew D., Chyna S. and Maddux D. limited the Oro Thunder's opportunities but when they did let a Thunder player get a shot on net Jack was there to put a stop to any of the Thunder's chances.

In the end the Stars shut down the Thunder and they racked up their first shut out of the season with a final score of 9-0.  Considering the challenges before the game and then the steadiness he showed in net Jack B was awarded player of the game.
