Novice Rep Silver Stick and Minto Tournaments
Our novice reps were the underdogs going into their silver stick tournament a few weeks ago but that didn’t scare them one bit.Being matched up against teams at a higher skill level just meant the kids had to play harder and faster than ever before, and they did!Even though they lost all 3 games the team battled hard, and made their opponents earn their wins!

Duncan Collins was the lone goal scorer in game one against Elmvale assisted by his line mates Avery McNamara and Zach Vibert. The team was shut out in game two by a very strong Simcoe team who ended up winning the entire tournament, and Avery scored the teams 2 goals in game three against Ayr with assists from Duncan and Zach.
It was a great learning experience for all the players and the kids now know how to battle hard for 3 straight periods making them more prepared for the playoff action to come!

Minto Tournament “A” Finalist
The team recently travelled to Harriston for the Minto Minor Hockey Novice Rep tournament trying to retain the title earned by last year’s novice rep team.
This tournament was set up on a points system with all 8 teams entered playing 2 games and 10 possible points to earn each game; 2 points for winning each period and 4 points to win the game. The 4 teams with the most points went on to play the A and B Championships.
First game was against Burford and Wasaga came out playing fast and hard winning all 3 periods and the game with a score 8-1 and earning 10 points!
Second game was against Plattsville and the team again won all 3 periods winning 9-0 giving our goalie Jonathan “Quick” Turner a well-deserved shut out!!!! Amazingly every player on the team got at least 1 point this game!
Wasaga was the only team in the tournament to earn a perfect score of 20 points which landed them in 1st place going into the championship game against Georgian Shores who earned 18 points.
The Championship game was one for the record books as the teams were very evenly matched and traded goals for the entire game. Jonathan stood on his head making great save after great save! So glad he can do the splits with ease!
The score was 3-2 for Georgian Shores half way through the third period when Avery scored from his knees  on a beautiful feed from Duncan to tie up the game and take the teams into sudden death overtime. Unfortunately the team couldn’t keep the puck away from Georgian Shores top scorer who got the winning goal on the first shift. What an awesome game to watch! The parents and fans from both teams cheered for everyone on the ice as there were no real losers in this championship game.

The Wasaga Novice Reps were proud to accept their trophy and silver medals as the “A” Finalists.

Our goalie Jonathan had a stellar performance this tournament making split leg and highlight reel saves defending our net the first 2 games, and robbing the other team of numerous scoring chances in the championship including a blocker save that directed the puck to sit on top of the net just like he'd done in practice many times!

Our gritty defenders Quentin Rouse, Maddox Day, Gillian Collie and Marley Wonta playing what many would call the toughest position in hockey protected our net and helped clear the puck out of our zone while vigorously battling against their opponents trying to head man the puck up to the forwards and create the beginning of each scoring opportunity. Their never give up attitudes and smart defensive thinking help give the whole team the confidence they need to move the puck up the ice.

Our determined forwards Duncan Collins, Avery McNamara, Zach Vibert, Cruz Doner, Josh Underwood and Emersyn Diver battled hard for every puck by for-checking and back-checking and capitalizing on every opportunity to create offensive plays  with their line mates. Their unselfish motives help them create many jaw dropping passing plays and goals that some NHL teams could learn from!

Our points earners include Duncan 9 points , Quinn 1 point, Cruz 4 points, Emersyn 5 points, Marley 1 point, Maddox 1 point, Gillian 2 points, Josh 5 points, Avery 11 points, Zach 5 points. Keep up the great teamwork everyone!

The coaches are so proud of this team in their play and especially how they handled such a tough overtime loss with class shaking hands with their opponents a second time after the game.

Back to regular season action and gearing up for the play-offs in the New Year. Go Beach Go!
