The Wasaga Stars Tyke 1 visited the Shelburne Wolves on Sunday
It looked like the Wolves sharpened their teeth along with their skates for their match up with the Stars.

The Stars played a great game on Sunday but could not get the puck to bounce their way for the win.  The tough defence from the host team kept the high flying Stars to only one goal with Jake Lavers making a fantastic unassisted play up the middle of the ice around 2 defenders.    Kate Stuart and Landon Tardif hustled hard in the neutral zone and kept the Wolves frustrated.   Brayden Martynuik had his debut on defence and played very well clearing the puck from the front of his net and making some impressive rushes up the ice from behind the blue line.

Connor Wyville had another stellar game between pipes stopping several shots and breakaways that were destined for the back of the net.   Connor never gave up and worked hard the whole game giving 100% right up to the final buzzer.   He was awarded the Grit Grinder hard hat player of the game by the coaching staff and is well deserved.

The Stars are back on the ice to play their home opener on January 2nd vs Creemore Hawks.

Go Stars !
