Stars faced Essa Eagles Black at home to cap off their double header weekend
The Stars gave it their all but the high flying Eagles came out on top.

The Stars came into the dressing room still excited over their big win the day before versus Essa Eagles Red, they knew today's match up would be a much tougher battle as they hosted their skilled sister team Essa Eagles Black.  Although the score didn't reflect how how the Stars played they gave it their all for the entire 30 minutes and never gave up.

Even though the Stars were left scoreless they got twice as many scoring opportunities compared to their last match up.   Cole Rouse made some great defensive plays in the neutral zone to break up the Eagles potent attack.  The defence was kept busy and the forwards were there to back check and help out their team.

Miller Black who has been the corner stone of the Stars defence all season played another great game.   He was relentless in the corners and held the blue line in the offensive zone.   Miller's quiet demeanour is no reflection on the way he plays the game.  He hustles on every shift and is aggressive on the puck.   For his hard work never give up attitude he was awarded the Grit Grinder Player of the game helmet.

The Stars are at home again on Sunday for a match up versus Tyke 2.

Go Stars.
