The Wolves were left seeing Stars!
After the Stars lost their first match up last week versus the Wolves they travelled to Shelburne looking for redemption.

From the very first face off the Stars were firing on all cylinders.   The high flying offence came to life and treated the fans to a great game and made the coaches proud. The neutral zone is where the game was won with fantastic passing and positional play by the wingers Cole Rouse, Brayden Matrynuik, Locklin Diver and Hudson Bradford. The bean counters in the press box counted 25 passes for the stars which resulted in 8 goals from 4 different players.   Jake Lavers had one of his strongest games of the year playing defence and netted 5 goals.  Christian Markic,  Kate Stuart and Gavin Sorensen also scored for the green and white to put the game out of reach for the Wolves.

Miller Black, Meckenzie Brannigan and Landon Tardif were like an iron curtain on defence standing strong on the blue line and pinching when necessary.  Connor Wyeville played another solid game between the pipes keeping the Wolves to only 1 goal.

The highlight of the night was Gavin Sorensen.   Being a rookie on the team Gavin was picked up on waivers from the Basement Mini Stick Hockey League at the beginning of the year having never laced up skates before in OMHA action.   Gavin went from rug burned knees in the BMSHL, to scoring his first and definitely not his last, OMHA goal.  As a result of his hard work, tenacity and never give up attitude he was awarded the Grit Grinder player of the game by the coaching staff.

The Stars next game is a double header weekend versus Angus.

Go Stars!
