The Stars greeted the Creemore Hawks for their first game in
front of their home town fans.
The arena was buzzing with excitement Saturday afternoon, even the coaching staff sensed something in the air and it wasn’t from the old timers who played before them. The dressing room was alive with anticipation and a team ready to play....and play they did.
The Stars put together one of their best team efforts of the season. The goal tending by Connor Wyville and defensive play by Cole Rouse, Miller Black, Christian Markic and Kingston Inman shut down the Hawks leaving them scoreless and the offence was something each player should be proud of.
7 different goal scorers in today’s game with some great individual effort and some fantastic passing and team play.
Hudson Bradford was on fire with 4 goals and an assist, Meckenzie Brannigan scored her first OMHA goal and Christian Markic played his first game on defence and scored 2 goals.
Landon Tardif had a five point game with his first career hat trick and 2 assists. His hustle and great passing from the corners to his team mates in front of the net did not go unnoticed by the coaching staff as he was awarded the Grit Grinder of the game award.
The Stars continue their double header weekend with a road swing through Angus to play the Essa Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
