STARS SWEEP HANOVER
"If they can't score, they can't win!". This must have been what goaltender Shayne was focused on as he quarterbacked yet another Wasaga win. Shayne recorded a shutout tonight, stopping a plethora of Hanover attacks from one of the most gifted break-out teams in the league.
An excited crowd was treated to a "AAA" grade hockey game tonight in Wasaga as the Stars closed the lid on the first round of OMHA play-offs against Hanover.

A very skillful Hanover team continued to put pressure on the Stars all game, and the Stars fought hard to capture the win, ending a grueling first round with a 3-0 series sweep.
With one case of the flu and with sniper Andrew leaving the game 9 seconds into the 1st period, and add 8 penalties throughout the game, the Wasaga bench was thinning fast. Wasaga dug deep, drawing on the conditioning of months worth of Zezel drills. Red faced and often near exhaustion, the team stood their ground defending the attack of the Hanover team and the Stars forwards pulled the trigger with some key goals by Riley (2) and Griffin. Aiding with assists were Haydn, who had a very strong game with some serious offence, and Owen and Jackson each putting up one assist.

A great game by both teams.

Thank you to Hanover for an exciting series and best of luck for the rest of the year!

Looking forward to the next series...stay tuned for details
