The final game of the series was on the road as the Wasaga Stars travelled to Bancroft.
The three hour drive didn't seem to have an impact as the Stars came out ready to play in front of a packed crowd at the Bancroft arena. After 15 minutes of play, Jackson was the first player to put one past the Jets goalie with an assist from Marcus and Evan.
Wasaga continued to up the score with both Marcus and Riley scoring before the end of the first period.
The first half of the second period was all Stars with Marcus putting in his 2nd of 3 for the night, and Patrick and Evan continuing their scoring streaks started last game. Midway through the second period, it was the Jets who turned on the afterburners and scored 3 unanswered goals from mid second period and into the 3rd period, igniting the Bancroft fans.
Despite the strength of the cheering fans and the volume of music, the Wasaga team rallied together and soon answered back. Team captains Marcus and Riley, showed true leadership as they broke the Jets' momentum and each delivered a goal in the 3rd. Assists this game went to Marcus (2), Owen (2), Evan, Patrick (2), Jackson(2), Matthew,Riley and Haydn.
Another great game and series by Shayne, being the backbone of the team and standing up against a Jets team packed with hard shooters, and a couple players with some very tricky moves.
The team will be looking forward to the finals against Tavistock.

I promise to play for the logo on the front, not the name on the back - Sidney Crosby
Teamwork based on complete selflessness. This is looking like the key factor, the final lesson to be mastered, that is required in order to push the Stars into the range of game perfection needed to continue moving ahead in the OMHA finals. Coach Paul and Charlie have emphasized this and worked on this all season and tonight the results were evident as the Stars worked together and finished ahead of the Bancroft Jets with a 4-0 win.
Another shutout by star goaltender Shayne frustrated the attacking Jets
offense. This set the stage for the Wasaga team to work together and after
nearly two full periods of end to end no goal action, turn the score to a 1-0
lead for Wasaga with a goal by Marcus.
Significant improvements in the team's breakout and defensive support in
the offensive end was shown with both Maddox and Aaron contributing 2 assists
each tonight. It was support from the D that led to a pass to Riley who
fed the puck forward to Jackson for a breakaway goal, sniping a shot past the
tender mid glove side. Riley went on to score two more goals in the 3rd period
to help wrap things up and help settle an excited and nervous Wasaga crowd.
