PLAYOFFS February 28 VS Osprey Hawks
Submitted By Chris Olson on Saturday, March 5, 2016
All the pieces seemed to come together for the Wasaga Stars in their second playoff matchup against the Osprey Hawks.

Defenseman Braedyn Gallant(1A) got things rolling for the Stars early in the first period with a brilliant end-to-end rush and a feed to the slot, where Player of the Game Joey Monohan(2G,1A) jumped on the puck and scored with a quick release. Scoring phenom Devon Jessup(2G) got to work in the second period, notching a pair of goals in less than two minutes on passes from Monohan and cagey linemate Jack LeBlond(1A).

Entering the third period with a 3-0 lead, Wasaga kept their foot on the gas and struck early: Hudson Alward(6A) worked the puck loose along the boards and sprung Jacob Curtis(1G), who carried the puck to the net and picked the corner. Joey Monohan put the icing on the cake with a spectacular rush late in the game, stickhandling from his own end through multiple defenders and sliding the puck home past a sprawling goalie.

Overall, this may have been Wasaga's best all-round game of the season – a full effort from start to finish, superb passing, and contributions from each and every player. Wasaga's defense was impeccable throughout the game, and goaltender Revan Van Willigen stood tall between the pipes to secure the shut-out win.
