Wasaga Stars Tyke 1 Take on Wasaga Stars Tyke 3 in Epic Battle of the Beach!!!
The Wasaga Beach Tyke 1 Stars have never been more excited and pumped up for the game they were about to play.  With a long stare down in the lobby from Coach Jenn over to Coach Dan, the packed house at the Wasaga Stars Arena were in for a game of historical madness.

The fog across the ice, the roar of the crowd, and the sound of the skates digging into the ice, set the tone for what was about to be a epic battle.  The "Brave Men of the Braided Bungalows", Carsten K. and Jackson R. put on a goalie clinic all afternoon, turning away shots like it was no ones else's business.  The Tyke 3 stars got on the board first with a great individual effort from Avery M. making meatloaf with mama.  The Tyke 1 Stars made a great come back on the next shift after Coach Matt had some inspiring words for the kids, "We've landed on the moon, now we have to show them what else we can do".  Zach "Attack" V. took those words to heart and moonwalked around the Tyke 3 Stars and put one out of this galaxy.  Nicky B. did some great back checking all game long, diving across the ice to prohibit the Tyke 3s from scoring.  Emma P. and Andrew D. we're holding the line all game, keeping the puck in the Tyke 1 zone.  The pep talk they got from Coach Shawn was as inspiring as a Dr.Suess rhyme.  The Tyke 3 Stars took a one goal lead going into the second frame.
The second period saw a flurry of goals from both teams.  Colwyn R. made a great play out of the corner, digging the puck free to a open Tyke 1 Star, putting them up by 1.  Cruz D. and Zach we're battling for position all game against each other, when Cruz turned on the afterburners on a back check, stripping Zach of the puck and making his way towards the Tyke 1 net before he put it bar down.  The highlight of the second period came from the Tyke 3 Stars defenceman, Landon T., who pinched in from the blue line blasting the puck top cheddar.  Coach Jordan had a tear in his eye watching his little man smile at his first career goal.  Aedan T. and Cooper H. had a solid game, forechecking in the Tyke 3 zone, freeing the puck and feeding it in front of the net.  Coach Tony saw how well the Tyke 1s were forechecking.  He spoke up and gave Christian "RUDY" M. some words of advice that is doesn't matter how small you are, as long as you have fun and try your hardest.  Christian went out and scored a beauty, pointing to his dad telling him that was for him.
Jake L. started the third period off with a bang, catching a speedy Avery on many accounts, stopping him from getting a shot on net.  Cohen R. must have had some RedBull between frames, because he came out with wings earning himself a breakaway with his quick speed.  Coach Mike saw that the Tyke 3 Stars were gaining momentum, so he put out one of the "Bash Brothers", Jacob D. To swing the momentum in the favour of the Tyke 1 Stars.  Jacob made some sweet saucer passes out of the defensive zone, giving the Tyke 1s some confidence.  Miller B. and Serenity F. were a fore checking duo, getting lots of shots on net, coming short of burying the disk.  Jessica D. played a solid game on the blue line, keeping the puck in the Tyke 1 zone.  The Tyke 3 Stars turned the puck over in their zone, Kate S. picked up the loose puck behind the net and made a wrap around.  Adrian D. was sitting alone at the side of the net and buried home the garbage in front earning him his first goal of the year.  After a close checking battle all game, the Tyke 3 Stars earned the "W" in a great effort by both squads.
The first 2 Stars of the game came from both teams.  Mason B. earned the "Playmaker of the Game" jersey for the Tyke 1 Stars.  His hard work all year long and his focus was only a couple of reasons why he earned the jersey. His positive attitude and cheering on his teammates game in and out, showed what a true warrior he is.  Kingston I. had his best game of the year, earning him the "Golden Helmet" for hardest worker.   He has shown all year that hard work at practice and being in the play all the time proves that anything can happen.  The third Star of the game goes to the Coaching Staff, Parents, and all the players, if it wasn't for all the hard work and dedication, this year wouldn't be as much fun as it has been.  Thanks to everyone that has been part of this year and hopefully we will meet in the finals at the Wasaga Beach Local Tournament.
