Stars Finish Their Regular Season With Style
Wasaga Stars Tyke 3 played their final 2 games of the season over the weekend versus their sister teams Tyke 1 and Tyke 2.

On Saturday the Stars played Tyke 2 in front of an anxious crowd. The game was action packed with great plays at both ends of the ice. Jackson Rolling got the nod in goal for the Stars and played a great game making some huge saves.

Avery McNamara put on another offensive show scoring several goals. Cruz Doner had one of his best games of the season with countless breakaways and shots on goal only to be stone walled by a red hot Jonathan Turner on Tyke 2 who was hard to beat on this day.

Serenity Ferrari, Christian Markic, and Miller Black were relentless on the fore check keeping the play in the offensive zone most of the game while the defensive core of Emma Pomeroy, Landon Tardiff, Jessica Durance, Andrew Dore, and Kingston Inman worked hard to keep the potent offence of Tyke 2 in check.

Both teams had a great game and had fun playing each other for the first time.

On Sunday the Stars played Tyke 1 and the crowd was buzzing with excitement. It was one of the best games of the season for both teams which saw a lot of great goals and team work. It was a mile stone event for the Stars as a lot of firsts were recorded which made it that much more special being the last game of the season.

Cohen Rutte had his best game of the year as he got his first break away of the season. Landon Tardiff got his first goal of his career while pinching from the blue line, the roar from the crowd when the puck went in blew the roof off the arena.

This was the first game of the season the Stars had multiple goal scorers. Avery McNamara, Christian Markic, Landon Tardiff and Cruz Doner all put the puck in the net. Serenity Ferrari, and Miller Black came very close as they logged several shots on goal. The play of the game came from Serenity Ferrari who made a fantastic pass from the corner to Avery M. in front of the net who buried the one timer.

Emma Pomeroy, Jessica Durance, and Andrew Dore played another solid game on defense. Their relentless back check and fore check kept Tyke 1 on their heels.

Avery McNamara put on a defensive show in this game hustling on the back check and demonstrating his two way playing skills. Cruz Doner was shining on this day as he found his scoring touch with the help of his speedy winger Christian Markic.  Jackson Rolling made big saves at key times throughout the game.

Kingston Inman had his best weekend of the year and really showed what hard work at practice and a fantastic attitude will produce. Kingston was in the mix all weekend and tried his best every shift earning him the golden helmet as the hardest worker.

On behalf of the entire coaching staff we want to say how proud we all are of the kids. They learned so much and had a lot of fun doing it. It was a pleasure to have such a great group of parents and kids to work with this year. Go Stars!
