Stars Sweep the Wolves to Take Round 2
The Wasaga Stars showed a lot of character by winning three in row and taking round two of the OMHA play downs versus the Shelburne Wolves.

After a tough five game battle in round one the Stars kept the momentum going and showed everyone they deserved to be exactly where their headed,   the semi finals vs Highland Storm.

In game one the Stars were on the road in Shelburne and won the game 6-2.   It was a epic defensive battle that saw Jake play a great game on the blue line.  He battled hard along the boards,  and moved the puck out of his end with confidence.   His great defensive play earned him the Wasaga Warrior of the Game.

Game 2 was on home ice in front of an excited crowd.   In a back and forth game the Stars found themselves down 3-0 after the first period and they knew they had to step up their game.   After two more periods of hockey the Stars showed everyone what it means not to give up.  They clawed back one goal at a time and scored the eventual game winner in the dying minutes to take the game 7-6.   Grayson played great two way hockey, with his stick on the ice and always in the right position he scored a beauty from the slot.   Grayson earned the Wasaga Warrior of the Game.

Game 3 was back on home ice and the Stars did not want to go back to Shelburne.   They played hard from the first puck drop and didn’t let off the gas.   The Wolves were blanked 6-0 to take round 2 in convincing fashion.  Ryder was making plays, setting up goals and battling hard along the boards the entire game.    He frustrated the Wolves offense in the neutral zone and they couldn’t get any momentum in the Stars end of the ice.   Ryder earned the Wasaga Warrior of the Game.

The entire team is coming together after a long season, they believe in themselves and the coaching staff.   Discipline, hard work and unselfish hockey is what wins games and the Stars are demonstrating that with every period they play.

The coaches and parents could not be more proud.   Great job team.

Go Stars.
