Saturday afternoon couldn’t come fast enough as the Stars
travelled to Halliburton for game two of their best of 5 OHMA semi final vs the
Highland Storm.
The Storm came out strong in the first period having scored early and took a 1-0 lead. The Stars battled back to end the period with two goals of their own and took a 2-1 lead into the second period.
As the game went on the Stars wore down the Storm and used their speed. They scored four more goals to win the game 6-2 and a 2-0 series lead.
The Stars did not let up and gave it all they had the entire game. Every player played as hard as they could and did it for their team. Cruz was a force at both ends of the ice, once again putting points on the board and showing hustle on the back check in his own end. Cruz earned the Wasaga Warrior of the Game. Great job.
Game three is back on home ice Sunday afternoon.
