FIRST 2 GAMES FOR TYKE 1 TEAM!!!
After a long wait to play their first game of the season, the Tyke 1 team traveled to Elmvale to play the pesky Coyotes!!
The Tyke 1 Stars came out fast and furious ready to take on their opponent after a long wait for there first game. With some big faceoff wins from Jake L and Nicky B, the Stars were on a roll. Carsten K and Chyna S were a 2 man (and woman) wrecking crew, digging for the disk in the corners. Kate S. and Aedan T. were a force to be reckoned with, skating hard on the back checks to prevent the Coyotes from scoring. We had some hard work in the defensive corners from Jacob D and Adrian D, dumping the puck out of the zone. Some strong skating on the back end from Colwyn R and Mason B was performed in this great effort. The story of the game came from our goalie, Zachary V, stoning the Coyotes left, right and center earning him the "Play Maker" of the game award.
On Sunday afternoon the Tyke 1 Stars traveled to Coldwater to tame the Wildcats. This one was a better match up for our Stars in the close checked battle. Some great defence by Adrian D, Colwyn R, Jacob D, and Isabella G, getting in the face of the Wildcat shooters. The line of Jake L, Aedan T and Chyna S were a fore checking trio, peppering the Wildcats goalie with rubber but coming a little short. Zachary V got the Stars on the board with his first tally of the season assisted by Carsten K. Shortly after, Nicky B went hard to the net, cashing in on the rebound from the Wildcats goalie. The bouncer of the burgandy bars, Kate S, stood on her head all afternoon, making huge saves on the Wildcats team, earning her "Play Maker" of the game award.
The Tyke 1 Stars will next travel to Stayner, January 3rd for a Tournament.
