Tyke 1 Stars Burnt By Flames
The Wasaga Beach Tyke 1 Stars flew into Pentang to try and extinguish the Flames.
With power forward Colwyn R. sick with the flu, and Adrian D. missing due to contract negotiations, the Stars found themselves with a short bench. The "Bash Brothers", Mason B. and Jacob D. held the Flames to only two tallies in the first period with there hard back checking and outlet passing. Zachary V. got the Stars on the board with 2 seconds left in the first with some strong skating, beating all the Flame defenders to slide one past the goalie. With a pep talk from Firefighter/Coach Kevin on how to put out the Flames, the "Twisted Sisters" Bella G. and Chyna S. took his advise and held them to only one goal in the middle frame. The "Protector of the Painted Plumbing" Jake L. had a solid game in net saving everything that was thrown at him. Nicky B., Kate S. and Aedan T. were strong on the forecheck, beating the Penetang skaters to the puck in the corners, making it hard for them to get the puck out of there zone. The "Playmaker of the Game" went to Carsten K. for all his hard work, making room for his teammates on the offensive prowl, and back checking to help his defense whenever he could. A great effort by all the the Stars.
The Wasaga Beach Tyke 1 Stars travel to Elmvale on Saturday January 17 to put down the Coyotes.
