The Wolves were howling in Wasaga.
The Shelburne Wolves Tyke 1 were in town to face the Stars on Sunday afternoon.

The Stars played another game on home ice in front of a frantic crowd and played some fantastic hockey.

The game was dominated by the Stars but they couldn’t get the puck to bounce their way.  This reporter counted 3 goal posts for the Stars but that only counts in cricket.   Katie Stuart played one of her best games of the season with 2 goals and some great rushes up the ice.  Her grueling training regime on Dad’s back yard rink is really paying off, Hudson Bradford continues to show his scoring touch with 1 goal and Christian Markic is doing his job at center digging hard in corners and getting 2 assists for the day.

The Stars defence was solid.   Miller Black owned the blue line on the offensive side of the rink and kept the Wolves in their den.   Meckenzie Brannigan played her first game on defence and played like a veteran.  Meckenzie hustled hard after the puck,   watched her player in front of the net and cleared the puck from her end.   She played a fantastic game and needless to say was awarded the Grit Grinder of the game from the coaching staff.

The game came down to the wire. Down by 1 goal the Stars kept the pressure on until the final buzzer but could not get the equalizer.   The team work and great passing demonstrated by the Stars was a pleasure to watch and we look forward to their rematch versus the Wolves in Shelburne on Sunday.

Go Stars !
